What are Jhonya’s Clubs’ Classes?

When Chief Master Jackson opened his school, he welcomed a two-and-a-half-year-old student named Sonya, who had been diagnosed with autism.

To connect with her, he crafted specialized teaching strategies that transformed her from feeling depressed and anxious into a positive and focused young martial artist. This transformation culminated in her earning a black belt by age nine.

As more students with disabilities and learning disorders joined the program, he recognized the need for tailored classes. In response, he created customized lessons to meet their unique needs. Recently, Richard, a 48-year-old with Down syndrome, and Shelby, who had to relearn basic skills after a traumatic brain injury, both proudly achieved their black belts.

Chief Master Jackson’s training approach continues to thrive, significantly benefiting students in Jhonya’s Club. Here, students not only learn essential martial arts techniques but also develop vital life skills, including confidence, respect, and teamwork. Additionally, they gain valuable self-defense and weapons training. Through this commitment, Chief Master Jackson empowers all his students to strive for their best and never settle for anything less.
